Choosing A Vintage Style Engagement Ring

August 8th, 2007

If you find a vintage style setting at an auction or estate sale and don't think the diamond is up the size or quality, it is easy enough to replace it with a new diamond of your choice. Since diamonds can be purchased as loose stones, separate from any setting, you don't need to limit your purchase of a vintage style engagement ring simply because you don't like the stone.

You don't even need to limit yourself to rings that were previously engagement rings. You can choose any ring setting you like and turn it into your own custom engagement ring. Other jewellery works well for this idea too.

The Abundance of Jabez

August 2nd, 2007

When the Bible tells us, "With man this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26), it is saying that with God there are no limits. When we put our faith in Him we see that not only is more possible, but that there is an infinite number of possibilities. The only thing that limits us is what we are able to believe and what we are willing to receive.

If we use the prayer of Jabez in our lives, we should recognize that we are asking God to open our eyes, and enlarge our vision, of what is possible. The abundance that we have in Christ comes from the realization that we are now reconciled with God and through Him we have access to unlimited possibilities.

Gabby’s Way

July 30th, 2007

(John 16:13-15)

3. You will not always get your way. Our own way is generally going to be self-centered. We teach our children this rule and then we turn around and demand it ourselves. God’s way is perfect and will accomplish His will eternally, perfectly, for all involved.

Guests often have free time on their hands during their reception. In the center of the table, place several pens and small pieces of paper in a pretty basket. Ask them to write their wishes, prayers, or advice for you and your fianc. Compile in a scrapbook.

Most wedding reception programs revolve around the couple: friends give speeches.

Internet Romance - Good Idea Or Bad?

July 20th, 2007

They may find it easy to meet in an internet room, but they still have the problem of meeting them face to face and if they have gone too far with the internet relationship, they may find that traumatic."

The truth is, many individuals find the anonymity of online romance encourages a certain amount of exaggeration or lying. While some claim that we always hide things at the beginning of a relationship, trying to put our best foot forward, the internet makes it easier to hide such things as facial expressions, income, marital status and even criminal records.

So while you may find, like Mary, that finding a romance relationship in the ‘real’ world is difficult - if you are still considering online dating it is wise to use caution and common sense. Be careful what you say about yourself and try to verify as much information as possible before meeting or personally contacting anyone you’ve met online and never meet them alone.

Death Before The Fall Of Man

July 17th, 2007

The "nephesh rule" of interpretation allows them to ignore clear evidence that insects died before the Fall.

Sea Lions, Seals, and Walrus (and Penguins)

All of these marine mammals feed on fish. To get around this argument, young earth creationists could again claim that fish are not "nephesh creatures," since they were not named by Adam.

This list could go on for many pages. But, I’m sure you get the point already.

Advantages of the Trust Administration Process

July 14th, 2007

(3) Privacy - Whereas Probate is a public procedure, Trust Administration is a private procedure. Documents which are not filed in Probate Court remain private documents, and are not subject to general public scrutiny. Under California Law, the only people entitled to see a copy of your Trust a people named in it, and your heirs at law.

(4) Greater Control & Flexibility over Distributions - Unlike Probate, where a Judge must approve early distributions, the Trust Administration process allows for immediate payment of debts and expenses, funeral costs, and can get money in the hands of the beneficiaries immediately.

Work to be Done during Trust Administration

One of the most common mistakes that a family can make is when a family member or loved one passes away, leaving a Living Trust behind, and the survivors think that no work needs to be done because Probate has been avoided.

Is Speaking in Tongues a Prayer Language?

July 11th, 2007

Is Paul really saying that he speaks in the tongues of angels? This verse needs to be viewed in context and also in relation to the translation from the Greek. The word that has been translated to "though" when translated and used in over 95% of all other places in the New Testament, has been more correctly translated to "if". Other Versions of the Bible do translate this correctly to "if I spoke in the tongues men and angels".

Regardless of this mistranslation, merely reading the following verses clearly reveal that Paul is speaking rhetorically, as had he been speaking literally he would be boasting that he understood all mysteries and knew everything, which we know is not the case. These verses read 1 Corinthians 13:2-3 "And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
